What is Kampai Toronto?
The only large-scale sake festival held in Downtown Toronto, the largest festival of its kind in Canada. ‘Kampai’ is the Japanese word for ‘Cheers’.
Who are the organizers of Kampai Toronto?
Kampai Toronto is organized by The Sake Institute of Ontario, a not-for-profit trade organization of
Ontario’s sake importers, distributors, and manufacturers.
Who can attend Kampai Toronto?
Kampai Toronto is a General Public event for guests 19 years of age & older. A dedicated Trade & Media session will be held also – for more information please visit the ‘Trade & Media’ section of the website or contact us at info@kampaitoronto.com.
How many guests will attend Kampai Toronto?
Over a 1000 will attend. However, admission tickets are limited, so purchase yours online before the event sells out — which happens every year!
Are there special rates / arrangements for a group booking?
Please refer to the new Admission packages which are group friendly.
How many sakes will be poured? Are they available through the LCBO?
Guests will have the opportunity to taste more than 175 sakes at Kampai Toronto, sourced from over 30 breweries from Japan, Canada and the U.S. Some of the products are or will be available at the LCBO, others will be unique to the event but available for order. Be assured that a diverse range of sake grades and styles will be made available by our numerous exhibitors.
How long will the Early Bird Admission price be available?
Until Sunday, April 22nd, 2018 at midnight
Will there be tickets available at the Door?
There will be food and drink tickets for purchase on-site (20 Tasting Tickets — $40 value, each ticket is worth 2$).
Admissions tickets at the door will depend on whether the event is sold out.
I don’t drink alcohol – is there a Non-Drinking Ticket available?
All tasting tickets included in the Admission packages can be used for food purchases as well as beverages.
My plans have changed – are Tickets refundable?
All tickets to Kampai Toronto are non-refundable.
What is Kampai Toronto doing to promote responsible drinking?
It will be mandatory for all exhibitors and serving staff at the Festival to be ‘Smart Serve’-certified. For more information on Smart Serve visit smartserve.org. In addition, spittoons and water stations will be readily available at the Festival, and Security Staff will ensure that Guests who appear to be intoxicated at Kampai will no longer be served, and in some cases may be asked to leave the Event.
What Public Transit options are available to attend Kampai Toronto?
Kampai Toronto will be held at the historic Distillery District in downtown Toronto, easily accessible by Public Transit.
Toronto Transit (TTC) Options:
• Subway. Take Subway to Castle Frank station on the Bloor line. Connect to Bus 65A Parliament.
Ride bus straight down Parliament. Exit at Front St. and walk one block south to Mill St.
• King streetcar. Take 504 King streetcar. Exit at King and Parliament. Walk two blocks south on
Parliament to Mill St.
• Cherry St. Bus 172, Front & Bay St. to Cherry Beach via The Esplanade and Mill St. GO Transit:
• Take GO Transit to Union Station. Connect to Bus 65A Parliament or Bus 72 Pape or Bus 172
Cherry Beach.
What Parking options are available at The Distillery District?
Meter parking is available onsite at The Distillery District parking lots, accessible from Parliament and Cherry Streets. There are also a number of municipal parking lots within walking distance. Please drink responsibly if you are planning to drive to the Festival, and arrange for Designated Drivers or contingency plans should the need arise.
What type of glassware will be used at the Festival?
All ticket holders will be provided with a standard 'ISO' wine tasting glass.
How do I volunteer at the Festival?

How much are sake and food tastings?
All sake and food tastings are set between 1 - 6 tickets. Sake pours will vary according to sake grade and brand. We've also made sure that each table has a sake that is a maximum of 1 or 2 tickets.
